Local race will benefit Shrewsbury Schools
SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – On Sunday, April 10 at 12 noon, the Fourth Annual Shrewsbury Road Scholars 5k & Fun Run will be held in Shrewsbury. All proceeds from the race will go directly to Shrewsbury’s Citizens for Education Fund (CEF) to purchase classroom books and materials, and to support innovative programs and activities in the Shrewsbury Public Schools. A special guest appearance will be made by 4-time Boston Marathon winner Bill Rodgers.
The event will start and end at Oak Middle School (45 Oak Street) in Shrewsbury. Pre-registrations received by April 4 are $15; students $10, and include a free t-shirt. Pre-entry family fee cap of $45. Same-day registration opens at 10:00am and the cost is $20; students $10. Presenting sponsors include of the race include: Dunkin’ Donuts of Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Health & Racquet Club, Avidia Bank and Fallon Community Health Plan. Supporting sponsors include: Darryl Henry Arborist & Landscaper, the Law Offices of Joseph J. Cariglia, National Facility Services, Inc., Town Fair Tire, UMass Medical School, Buca di Beppo restaurant, and St. Vincents Medical Group.
