SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts –  The Shrewsbury Education Foundation recently announced the nominees and winners of the first Dr. John P. Collins Excellence Awards! Nominations from parents and faculty members at Sherwood were made in recognition of the following staff members:  Ms. Caitlin Daley, special education teacher, Mrs. Melissa Sommer, special education teacher, Mrs. Judy DelSignore and Mrs. Joyce Avery, Grade 6 team teachers (purple), Mrs. Heather Gablaski, Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator for grades 5-8, and Mrs. Kelly O’Connell, Adjustment Counselor. Thank you to those who nominated these fine individuals by taking the time and making the effort to recognize these outstanding individuals!

Congratulations to the award recipients of the Collins Excellence Awards. These recipients include the following:

* Team: 8 Gold Team (OMS)

* Leadership: Ken Largess (SHS, Assistant Principal)

The SEF will be hosting a dinner at Cyprian Keyes on Saturday evening, January 29th, in recognition of these outstanding individuals, as well as those in our school district who have received SEF grants through the foundation. SMS fifth grade math and science teacher, Mrs. Sarah Matthews, received one of the grants this year, along with Mrs. Gail Goodness, health teacher.
