Shrewsbury, Massachusetts – The tradition is a pretty long standing one that I believe goes back to Kristie Benoit back in 2004.  Each year the Shrewsbury HS Girls Basketball team holds its annual Pink Game, where all players dress up in their pink sweatshirts and raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.  This year, the gals had a fantastic turnout, complete with a basket raffle which was a big money raiser.  Also, as this was Valentines Day, it was combined with another one of my favorite traditions, in which the girls all have their moms come out onto the court, and present each one with a flower.  As hard as these kids work to perfect their game, none of it would be possible without the time and energy that their moms put in to get them where they need to go, and come out and cheer for each and every game.

Here are a few picks from the game itself, against Holy Name.

Enjoy,

Steve
