SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – In an article in todays T&G, and not yet independently verified by the Lantern, it was reported that the 83 year old driver involved in the accident which tragically took the life of Justin Onorato, was arraigned in Westboro District Court and charged with motor vehicle homicide, negligent driving, and failure to yield.

As you may recall from our earlier reporting, the driver, Ralph Notarangelo, of Worcester, was turning from Main Street onto the Route 290 on ramp when he struck Justin, who was out taking his friends motorcycle for a test ride.  Police report that speed was not a factor in the accident, but the long term investigation resulted in the charges filed.

Of course, while it’s always great to see justice served, this is of little comfort to all of us who knew and loved Justin for all these years.  He was a vibrant, fantastic young man, full of life, and always with a huge smile.  To see a life like that cut short, is something that I think about literally every day, as I drive my own kids to the high school and pass the spot where the accident occurred.  He had his whole life in front of him, and was clearly destined to do great things.  I know he’s certainly missed by our family, and his hundreds of friends here in Shrewsbury.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops, and of course cover the results of the legal process unfolding.
