Shrewsbury WWI monument receives large donations
SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts - The project to rebuilt the aging World War I memorial in front of Beal School received another major boost this week, when Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union stepped up with a $10,000 donation!! This is the third $10K donation that they have received, which, in addition to the many other contributions, and thousands of dollars worth of "in kind" donations, is getting this closer and closer to it's ultimate goal of a dedication in time for Veterans Day 2011.
For those who have gone by the site lately, you'll see that the old trees have been cleared away to prepare the spot, along with the old flagpole. The new trees which will be incorporated into the monument have already been purchased and are being stored locally waiting to be put in place.
Many congrats to all of the individuals and Veteran's organizations who've been working tirelessly to make this happen.
