SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – Original group founders Hannah and Hailey Parsons, Danielle Evans and over 50 other students from Shrewsbury and Northboro were honored today in an event held at the Academy of Math and Science facility in Marlboro.   These students formed the first Leaders of Tomorrow Chapter outside of Shrewsbury, and have grown it into one of the most active chapters in the state.  Together, these outstanding young men and women have worked on dozens of community service and leadership development programs in the last year, raising thousands for charity, serving food in soup kitchens, devoting their weekend to Habitat for Humanity, working with Special Olympics, and so much more.

These students were honored as the first recipients of the Steve Levine Community Service award, which was created this year as a way to recognize those in the community who step up and serve others at every opportunity. Presenting the award today was Sam Levine, founder of the organization, along with Senator Michael Moore, and RE/MAX Regional Director Jay Hummer, the original creator of the award.  In addition to the community service award, the group also received a certificate of recognition from the Massachusetts State Senate, signed by the president of the Senate, as well as Senator Moore.

Congrats to all the LOT members, and huge thanks to the parents, and all of the many administrators who have encouraged Leaders of Tomorrow to become a part of the very core social structure of the school.  To quote one of the officials there, “if we allowed all who wanted to join, we could recruit 300 students within the hour.”
